According to the website of the event, Hamid Farrokhnejad was appointed as the chairman of the jury at the first edition of the International Brightlight Film Festival by the festival’s director, Bella Blake.
Farrokhnejad, 52, started his career as an assistant director, but he began his acting career by appearing in the 1991 film ‘In the Alleys of Love’.
He won several awards, including the Best Actor in a Supporting Role at the 18th Fajr International Film Festival in Iran for his role in his second movie 'The Bride of Fire'.
Farrokhnejad has also appeared in many films and series, including 'Low Heights', 'Big Drum Under the Left Foot', 'Fireworks Wednesday', 'Yasin', 'The Green Ring', ‘Habib’, and 'The Married Life of Mr. Mahmoudi and His Spouse'.
The International Brightlight Film Festival’s goal is “to introduce and reward independent filmmakers from all over the world and become a tool to open the way in the cinema industry”.
The 1st edition of the festival will be held on April 13, 2022.
